I came back from Canada on Tuesday. It was a fun trip. The week off I took with friends & familly in Quebec City was great!
The week I worked in Ottawa was quite good actually. We are starting an exciting project and there will be 3 more trips ahead this fall: China, Canada and South-East Asia (Thailand, Viet-Nam and Indonesia). Now I am catching up on the e-mail and other house chores.
The worst part of the trip was Air Canada and YVR airport:
Arriving in NRT (now with wireless internet) from FUK, we had to wait for an hour for the Air Canada counter to open because they couldn't issue our boarding pass in FUK (but they could tag our suitcases all along, go figure). Can't they know that they will have connecting passengers from other cities in Japan? Lack of planning, bad logistics.
On the flight from NRT to YVR, no amenity kit in business class. This sucks. I know they are losing money but when one has a ticket that expensive, one has great expectations... SQ anybody? ;-)
Arrived at YVR, the suitcases tagged "Priority" came last. Lack of logistics again.
In YVR, nobody spoke French at security (as usual). That's my bilingual country... I don't care how many foreign languages they know, I just want to be served in French, the official language of my choice. It's the law, it's my right, their obligation.
Service in French on the YVR to YOW flight? You really had to insist...
AC Money saving tips: On flights shorter than 3.5 hours, no more free meal in cattle class. Who do they think their customers are?
Next time I'll fly back to Canada, I'll really try to avoid AC. What about OZ or SQ? Now we are talking. I won't get service in French but I'll be served by people who really care (and look great ;-) ).
I really love Jetsgo new slogan: "With fares that cool, there's no need for AC"
