Today I had a great relaxing day that I want to remember.
I went to bed at midnight and at 9:30 my mother woke me up to tell me that if I didn't get a move on it I would be late for my massage at 10. So I got up, dressed and went to my 2 hr massage. Afterwards, in a state of physical untension, I drove home and had lunch with my mother. Isn't that great!
I started a book called The Power of One which my cousin Kristen mailed me a year ago. I'm glad I saved it. It is a captivating book. Even though it is about boxing, a world I know little of, and South Africa during WWII, a world I know less of, I find it quite engaging and compelling to read this story from the perspective of a young boy trying to make sense of his world.
I currently have nothing smart to say about it, but that the craftmanship is evident because I don't feel it. It is a wonderful yarn and I'm throughly enjoying myself.
I've been thinking more about solitude and helplessness which are two reoccuring themes of the Nouwen and Hallesby books I'm reading.
I've been bad about blogging, I'll try to get back on the horse.
