I watched Lord of the Rings for the first time in English.  It's good to know that when I watched it in April in Russian I really did get about 80-90% of it.  I've decided that I like the book and my imagination much better than the computer graphics.

So between the Lord of the Rings and The Power of One on one side and The Genesee Diary and Prayer on the otherside, I am thoroughly confused about how to be or live.  With all this talk of Harvard and language policy lately, I've felt my yearly dose of destiny.  About once a year, there is this moment where I feel like I have awakened to find out that I have potential to influence people, that "greatness" whatever it is may be possible.  At the same time, the current idea that I've been munching on is that the growing Christian life includes a healthy sense of helplessness that comes from a deeper understanding of John 15:5 where Jesus says "apart from me you can do nothing".

How does this fit together?  Helplessness doesn't seem like the route to "greatness" or even to a Ph.D program Harvard or not.

I got to talk with my brothing Alan this morning.  That was pretty cool.

He reminded me that I wanted to use this website to post pictures.  I've got to figure out a better way to do that.  Maybe I should try to learn some html not that I'm sure how to integrate that into this program.

I think that I'd like to have a few different pages, one main page, a pictures page, a stories page, maybe a nerd talk (applied linguistics) page.  Oh yeah, archives would be nice.  We'll see how that goes.

Still deep into this book The Power of One.
