Reviewing books once again -- Comment()
After stopping reading new books for a couple of months, I ordered two books for my personal use:

Bioinformatics for Dummies (by Claverie and Notredame)
Sync: The Emerging Science of Order (by Strogatz)

In addition, I'll get a review copy of the book Computer Algebra Handbook (by Grabmeier Kaltofen, and Weispfenning)

I have already written two new book reviews for the Tietoyhteys magazine, where I edit the book review column. Most of the earlier reviews are available here (in Finnish).

Yesterday I made a short presentation of using a Paracel Genematcher2 server in bioinformatics. This was a full-day meeting, where we discussed processes and strategic planning at the management level.

On Friday I'll be in Manchester, UK, attending a meeting on grid technologies. The planning day yesterday helped to focus on the essentials in planning future activities. It was good to have time to discuss joint experiences with other group leaders.
