[Item Permalink] New massive server farms at Google -- Comment()
The scope of Google services is breathtaking. They are building server infrastructure in convenient locations near busy crossroads. For example, Google will open a new data center in Iowa: "Google is spending $600 million on a new data center in Iowa. The facility, already under construction, is expected to open in the first half of 2009. So far, Google is planning on two buildings to house its server farms at the Iowa site but has acquired more land for potential future growth." [IDG InfoWorld]

[Item Permalink] Vacation, day one, being sick -- Comment()
I'm starting my summer vacation on Thursday, June 21. However, some kind of flu is imminent, the throat is sore and the nose runs. Not a nice start for a vacation. But I hope things improve. But when one becomes older, it seems that some of the bad things tend to be remembered along with the good times.
