Time to start planning e-voting and doing it right

With ample time before the upcoming 2008 elections, great scrutiny needs to be given to any proposed electronic voting systems. This is in today's ComputerWorld:
EFF files suit over e-voting in N.C.. The Electronic Frontier Foundation, a national digital rights advocacy group, has filed suit against the North Carolina State Board of Elections for allegedly certifying three electronic voting systems without completing detailed, state-required reviews of the software they use.
