Would You Visit These US States Based On Their Websites?

Tourism and tourist's spending is important to most states, so every state creates an online image encouraging you to visit it. Over at Smiley Cat, a rating of the State Tourism websites has tiers of state appeal with California in the top tier. In the introduction we find the range Smiley Cat's writer wrote:

The design quality of state department of tourism web sites ranges from top notch to not so much (where do you start with this one?) with many lying somewhere in between.

I should mention that I can't comment on Rhode Island's site as I can't get it to even load.

I can say that one element often on state tourism sites that isn't relevant (to me at least) is the shape of the state. Many state like Illinois include a state-shaped graphic, too small to be useful. Maybe some people forgot which one it is, or are biased against rectangular states. Who knows?
