Don't worry about strange Date-formats, I'm in the process of figuring out how to keep Panther from messing with them. Everything should be back to normal soon.

While working on XML Markup for a DocBook formatted document, I stumbled over something I simply forgot: how to create abbreviations in vi.
In my case I used ':ab PARA ' and added ctrl-v [Cursor left] a couple of times and lo and behold: less typing.
To use the abbreviation, type PARA in insert-mode and type [Space]. It expands to the paragraph tags and moves the cursor backwards to the right place to start writing.

I had some surreal experiences lately concerning the use of 'Terminal' on Macs running OS X.
Not that the 'Terminal' app isn't doing what it should, but the reaction of die-hard Mac users. Based on reactions to a recent forum post I'm starting to get anxious if one of them is behind my back while I'm using 'Command-Line'. Maybe it's just due to the fact that I read Dan Brown novels during the last week. Maybe I'll come up with a nice Mouse ambigram myself. ;-)
None of them called me a 'Heretic' yet, though.
