This article gives a good description of funerals in Japan, but does leave out the part about people trying to stand up after kneeling sitting cross-legged on the floor for close to an hour. Several times I have been through this, but I have noticed more and more Japanese people having the same problem. Fewer and fewer spend most of their time sitting or kneeling on the floor at home, so at funerals or other events that require it people have a terrible time. 9:59:39 PM
