Washington (GNN) - - According to the New York Times, (link:http://www.nytimes.com/2004/04/23/politics/trail/23TRAIL-GORE.html?e x83384000&enQ5d13c8149ab710&eiP62&partner=GOOGLE") Former Vice President Al Gore met privately with Senate Democrats on Wednesday to discuss intelligence issues. Sources present reported that one of the main topics of the meeting was the Presidential Daily Brief ("P.D.B."), a classified document which is given each morning to the President and Vice President, specifically the P.D.B. dated August 6, 2001, titled "Bin Laden Determined To Strike In US" (link:http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A2285-2004Apr10.html?n av=most_emailed). Since this P.D.B. was declassified on April 10th, it has caused renewed debate over how the Bush Administration handled the threat of terrorism prior 9/11. According to a source present at the meeting Wednesday, Gore thought that President Bush should have done more to follow up after receiving that memo. The source told the New York Times that Gore stated "If we had read that, we would have certainly asked for more information."

Gore declined to comment on the meeting to reporters.
