Dorodango...a shiny ball of mud. This has been around, but thought I'd mentioned it here.  Basically it is a shiny ball of mud, one that is unfired but slowly dried and polished until it shines. It is an activity suitable for children of all ages.   Indeed, those who are most interested in it include child psychologists Some good instruction here. More here. One could go on about the child's play, being in the moment, craft, and other possibilities in such an activity.  I also wonder how many unfired things made in the past have vanished.
