Site Profile: WISC-Online, Wisconsin Online Resource Center WISC is "focused on the competencies taught within Wisconsin's 2-year community college/technical college arena." Instructors from 4-year colleges will also find some valuable resources, especially for introductory courses in General Education. Many of the learning objects utilize Flash and Shockwave and are effectively produced, but browser plugins are required; begin exploring the site by taking the Brief Tour. The site includes some instructor guidelines for Teaching with Learning Objects. Faculty outside the Wisconsin Techical College System may use the learning materials with the permission of the authors. "Teachers may link learning objects directly to classrooms, Web pages, and online courses by simple copying and pasting the address provide with each object." WISC was partially developed with funding from both LAAP-FIPSE and NSF.
