EduResources Weblog--Higher Education Resources Online
This weblog focuses on locating, evaluating, discussing, and providing guidelines to instructional resources for faculty and students in higher education. The emphasis is on free, shared, HE resources. Related topics and news (about commercial resources, K-12 resources, T&D resources, educational technology, digital libraries, distance learning, open source software, metadata standards, cognitive mapping, etc.) will also be discussed--along with occasional excursions into more distant miscellaneous topics in science, computing, and education. The EduResources Weblog operates in conjunction with a broader weblog called The Open Learner about using open knowledge resources across a diversity of subjects, levels, and interests for a wide range of learners and learning communities--students in schools and colleges, home schoolers, hobbyists, vocational learners, retirees, and others.

Since Deliberations was mentioned in the previous site profile, I decided it would be worthwhile to describe it in more detail. Deliberations is a site to consider when looking for online learning resources, although it is not on the same level of usefulness and comprehensiveness as MERLOT, SCOUT, and the MIT OpenCourseWare resource sites. Deliberations is generally concerned with facilitating "Learning and Teaching in Higher Education" rather than serving as a learning resources repository.

Its Subject-Specific Learning Resources can be searched via the Index for All Subjects or by selecting a specific subject area. Deliberations provides gateway links to many online sites relevant to learning and teaching, but it is NOT focused exclusively on learning objects or even learning resources--although some will be found at some of the links. In many ways, Deliberations resembles a master gateway within an omnibus Faculty Development Center. Users will need to traverse several link jumps and make search judgements if they are looking for specific learning objects or even more general learning resources such as syllabi, lecture notes, or assignments.
