War turns pornographic, but punishment due President George W. Bush said U.S. soldiers who humiliated, abused or killed prisoners of war will be punished. Bush gave interviews to two Arabic-language television stations. He stopped short of apologizing for the conduct of U.S. soldiers at Baghdad's Abu Ghraib prison, where naked, hooded Iraqis, confined in geometric constructions and rendered in base colors, were pornographically humiliated. Bush told Al-Hurra, a U.S.-sponsored station, the photos were "abhorrent," which means " offensive to the mind" or "disgusting especially to the senses."
