Why does history repeat itself?
Jiggy the police lights on the cars that lead
Distant like Russian revolution film the caisson brigade
In long view on my old CRT
CBS News Live Coverage Reagan Funeral Procession
Heading toward the rotunda

Steamy the trance as the old Washington mule preempts the evening anchors
Great Communicator - Your old ticker blonked
They shot down a satellite in your honor
Alls forgot in time, even old Gorby is wingining to town
They hoisted  a few at the Eire pub - they always do
And the humidity ironically fogged up the lenses

Gip, yours is the turest death the state
has known ere long
And now you can say
On that sad sagging knee
The flags at half mast
It's history to me.
