Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch predicted confirmation to the Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia after the Committee voted 10 - 9 to send his name to the full Senate.  In a battle to position a Hispanic judge on the court the Senate and White House have been supporting different candidates.
