Ain't No Cure For The Wintertime Blues We made it through the kind of blizzard we haven't had around these parts in some time. I even managed to schlep off to work (two hours late). When I got there nobody really seemed to be in the mood for "working", everybody was just going through the motions. Everybody, that is, except the Number Two Guy. He was furiously dictating away and yelling at people over the phone just like always. Well, he's entitled. He just got back from a one week Caribbean cruise (and didn't get sick). Number One Honcho was "stranded" at his ski lodge in Vermont, so I guess he'll just have to tough it out. Me and The Rifleman just sat around feeling sorry for ourselves. I did get some work done and at lunchtime checked on some other blogs. It seems like an awful lot of people are going through some horrendous pain right now so I shouldn't complain about my boring little existence (though I will anyway). There's too many to name and I don't want to leave any of them out so I'm not listing any here right now. I'm sure that anyone who reads the most widely read blogs already knows who I'm talking about. There also seems to be alot of angry, mean-spirited "blog trolls" (I've been told that's what they're called) out there. For the most part they seem to be a big-talking but cowardly lot who visit other people's websites, cause alot of pain and then leave a ficticious email or website address. One in particular really irked me. I won't name him here because an idiot like that probably gets off on that kind of press. Anyway, back to my complaining. Is this winter ever going to end? Are we going to war? Will we ever find out why the Columbia crashed and, if we do or don't, will we lose our courage to explore the final frontier? I have all of these things swirling around in my head right now along with "where should I hang that picture I bought last summer." You know, the mundane everyday annoyances of our brief existence in this vale of tears. Well, enough sulking for now. I think I'll pour myself a Scotch and unwind a bit before I do some more work.
