Who Needs Reality TV? I actually forced myself to watch American Idol last night. What intrigued me the most was the AT&T Wireless voting as to whether Simon was meaner, nicer or the same as last year. My bet is that if you ever had to audition for him in real life you'd get to know what a prick he really can be. If anything, they've toned him down for TV. I know how cutthroat the music business really is and it makes this overblown rip-off of Star Search (Ed McMahon version) look like a nursery school. I bet that the average contestant on Survivor wouldn't last 3 days on a Boy Scout camping trip. If you want reality, all you have to do is open your eyes in the morning when the alarm clock goes off.
