Oh, The Weather Outside Is Frightful . . . Ah! Why do I live in this part of the country. The northeast is definitely not your vision of a Currier & Ives Christmas card. Maybe in Vermont or Maine the snow looks picturesque, but in the Mid-Atlantic states it's just one big pain in the ass. First it started to rain last night. Then the temperature dropped and the water on the ground froze. Then it snowed on top of that. Now it's alternating between snow and sleet and I have a 60 mile roundtrip drive to pick up my son. My wife and I are definitely not winter people. Oh yeah, when I was in my 20's for a brief time I took up skiing and actually enjoyed the winter. That's if you call sliding down a mountainside on your ass through the slush while it's raining an enjoyable time. That was my first experience skiing. I understand it's different out west. Anyway, I did learn to like it and got quite good at it. But now, I'd much rather be strapping on my scuba gear and investigating some tropical reef. Hmm, maybe I'll go over to Travelocity and . . . . 2:14:48 PM ![]() |
