PHP and Mono This work by Sterling Huges is to create a PHP extension so you can use .NET assemblies within PHP. Sterling has based the work on Mono, so his aim is use PHP and Mono and Windows and Unix platforms. Flash Remoting over PHP - via Sean Corfield Needs some tweaking but this is doable by all accounts, I suspect that the offical PHP implementation won't be far way. I do hope that Macromedia consider creating one for Parrot (a la Perl, Python, Ruby), reading this it seems that if you can figure out the types in AMF then mapping them to a VM's types is a good step forward...and no I don't have time ;-) Download the PHP files here. Axis wins an award - via John Dowdell Macromedias Glen Daniels was mentioned in this article as one of the key people behind Axis. It is mentioned that Axis was used in CFMX but for the record its also in Jrun MX as well. Glen is also Macromedias rep for the SOAP W3C standard and is one the eds for the SOAP over Email spec. Macromedia plannining on some office apps maybe :) I think its a very cool thing that Macromedia are investing back in the technology they use in their products and I hope that their involvement in opensource projects (such as the Mozilla Rhino project which is also used in CFMX) grows.    12:38:40 PM    comment []

Borland prepares new IDE for .NET Borland have stated this tool won't be like Visual Studio but "One tool for mutiple languages" sounds like VS to me. What ever Borland have in mind I can't wait to see it. 12:34:04 PM    comment []
