I don't think Dare meant to imply this connection between Microsoft's release of Windows XP Starter Edition and Newspeak when he posted Two Minute Hate with its link to the Newspeak Dictionary. Nevertheless, if Microsoft's use of the phrase "Simplified Task Management" to describe limiting the number of concurrent processes to three, screen resolution to 800x600, printer and file sharing, etc., isn't a real-world example of Newspeak, then I don't know what is.
