Happy New Year!
These are a few of the most memorable films I saw in 2002. In another life
I'll make a feature ;) More suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Tuvalu
A sort of silent film by the German Director Veit Helmer. His first feature
has been compared to Delicatessen, Charlie Chaplain and Metropolis. It made
me reminisce about Chris Mann's short film "The Shiney Harp". But if you want
to see that you might have to ask Chris to send you a copy ;) Then again, they
might have it at mathbat.com.
Memento
Fantastic movie about a man who can not create any new memories. Described by
the Director Christopher Nolan as film noir. Based on a story written by his
brother. Amazing idea, brilliant structure, mysterious and smart. This film
was recommend to me by one of my collectors, thank you Marissa!
Scotland, PA
Dark and wickedly funny modern day portrayal of Shakespeare's tragedy Macbeth.
Written and Directed by Actor Billy Morrissette, this is his first feature.
Highlights include performances by Christopher Walken and Andy Dick.
Bowling for Columbine
Documentary by Michael Moore. I can not begin to put into words how important
this film is.
And last but not least...
Jay and Silent Bob Strike
Back
A guilty pleasure. Indie superhero Kevin Smith is an inspiration. Extra points
for convincing Miramax to finance a film in which he routinely parodies Miramax!
Yay!
Oh, BTW I
put up auctions today. The first since I moved into my new house. (It's
been about 3 months) I'm finally back!!!!
Cheers,
