Talk at Plone Conference

Leave it to Plone to have a conference in New Orleans. Absolutely cool. I've been five times to Mardi Gras in my mispent youth, and I have lots of Canal Street memories that I can't quite recall.

Of course, like usual, I draw the last slot on the last day. I'll have to think of something memorable to keep people awake. Sure, it's New Orleans, but I don't think public nudity would leave the right impression.

Infrae and Logical Progression in Zope Europe

It's nice to start a day with good ZEA news.

First, a hearty welcome to Infrae, ZEA's newest sponsor. There are lots of reasons to be happy about this news. First, Infrae holds a special place in the leadership of the world of Zope, through its people, software, and activities. Second, we get to expand the capabilities the ZEA companies can deliver thanks to Silva. Third, Kit and Martijn are quite tuned in to the business of open source, and I've found their opinion on this quite valuable.

Next, another big welcome to Andrew Veitch at Logical Progression in Edinburgh. Logical Progressions joins as a ZEA member. Andrew and I have worked very hard together on an in-progress bid. He has a number of strengths, including a strong background in the tender process for large organizations, which is a great benefit to the network.

Castle Sprint, Best Ever

Two weeks ago, BlueDynamics hosted a Plone sprint at Phil Auersperg's castle in Austria. This was the best Zope sprint I've ever attended, even beating Infrae's wonderful Rotterdam sprint last year. Congrats to Robert, Phil, and all the others that organized this event!
