Infrae pre-announces Silva 1.2Martijn let the Silva community know about the upcoming release for Silva, the Zope system for XML-oriented document and content management. Infrae positions Silva as "an XML based CMS for publishing on the web, paper, and other media."The new release focuses on three features: "expanded version management for XML documents, subscription functionality for all versioned content, and an internationalized Silva user interface, including Dutch and German translations."
I gotta admit, the way Infrae has put Kupu (the visual editor) into Silva is pretty slick. |
British health service uses PloneMike Mathias at Open Web Systems told me during a phone call that Britain's National Health System (NHS) is using Plone to power the intranet for its "National Programme for Information Technology" (NPfIT). Stated differently, NPfIT is "bringing modern computer systems into the NHS to improve patient care and services. Over the next ten years it will connect over 30,000 GPs in England to almost 300 hospitals and give patients access to their personal health and care information, transforming the way the NHS works."
Go Plone! |
ElementTree gets a speedupFrederik Lundh has been working on ElementTree, a way to work with XML content using a Pythonic structure. Others, such as Uche's Amara XML Toolkit and xmltramp, are providing similar tools. Frederik's is interesting because there is a pure Python version and now, a C version that seems ridiculously fast with low-memory usage.11:42:38 AM ![]() |
