DOH!  I recently found out I was guilty of running an open HTTP relay on my home server.  Unfortunately, I didn't figure this out until I had been blacklisted by http://www.dsbl.org, but I'm glad I got the point.

The problem was that I had Apache in front of Zope and I was running mod_proxy and mod_rewrite.  The default configuration I was running had mod_proxy ProxyRequests on.  This is what you want if you are actually doing something with mod_proxy.  However, all I really needed mod_proxy for is for mod_rewrite.

This message helped point me in the right direction.
