I'm not bragging...  well, maybe I am.  So what?  My lovely wife bought me a Handspring Treo 600 for Christmas!!  It's a Palm based PDA phone that absolutely rocks.  Even though many people seem intimidated by the thumb-operated keyboard, Handspring's focus on usability is apparent in all aspects of the device.  Almost every core fuction of the phone, web browser, camera, calendar, to do list, and SMS messaging is accessible via the navigation dial in the center.  I frequently find myself going a day or two without grabbing the stylus.

The only criticism I have of the device is the built in camera.  The camera is very low quality and does strange things in certain lighting situations.  It's a gimick, and to that end, it serves its purpose.  I've taken a few good shots with it, and then sent them to friends and relatives all from the phone.

As I mentioned before I love this phone.  I love this PDA.  I love this PDA phone.

I finished Dan Brown's Digital Fortress this week.  It's an engaging thriller involving the NSA, cryptography, and yes...  a love story.  This book has a bit of something for everyone.

The book is a great read.  It's apparent that Brown has done his homework with regard to the crypto references in the book.  However, the more technical or crypto savvy will need to ignore some of the fine points.

All-in-all, a great read!  I highly recommend it.  I'm getting ready to start Mr. Brown's more recent novel, The Da Vinci Code
