It's been really annoying me to no end that I could find no way to disable the system  beep in VMWare.  Especially because Emacs (my beloved editor) happily (or angrily) rings the system bell when you make certain mistakes.  However, I found this thread that talks of a hidden option that you can put in your .vmx file to disable the beep.  Simply set mks.noBeep = "true".  Wonderful!

How do I love Google?  Let me count the ways... 

Have you tried typing in "define: <term>" at the Google search prompt?  It's a beautiful thing.  Google will provide as many definitions for your term as it can find.  It's especially good for geeky computer terms.  Check out my search for "NFS".
