BBC: "An Estonian town has unveiled a controversial monument to honour those who fought with Nazi forces against the Soviet Union in World War II.
The monument depicts an Estonian soldier in German military uniform."
I think we would have less trouble with Turkey in Europe, than with those neo-nazi supportive countries that just joined the European Community.

BBC: "Iraq's successful Olympic football team has launched an outspoken attack on US President George W Bush."

The market for audiobooks is growing. You can download some here in German, and here in Dutch. My favourite: Die Leiden des jungen Werthers.
I couldn't get Kafka's Urteil to download on my mac. I don't know where the problem lies. (And no, you can forget about me buying a windows pc!)
Update for mac-users: Safari and Internet Explorer can't download those files. I used Netscape which did a good job. Or use Opera or an ftp-program.

Washington Post: "The fight over Vietnam and valor consumed the presidential campaign yesterday, as a group of veterans accused John F. Kerry of betraying fellow soldiers and dishonoring the country when he became a leader of the antiwar movement upon his return, and Democrats launched a new counteroffensive."
The Bushes have always played dirty. The supporters of deserter and draft dodger Bush won't stop at anything.
MSNBC: "Republican Sen. John McCain, a former prisoner of war in Vietnam, called an ad criticizing John Kerry's military service 'dishonest and dishonorable' and urged the White House on Thursday to condemn it as well."
CapitolHillBlue: "A key figure in a veterans' anti-Kerry campaign, Kerry's former commanding officer, admitted today he lied when he said the Democratic candidate for President did not deserve the Silver Star.
Lieutenant Commander George Elliott now says he made a 'terrible mistake' in signing an affidavit that suggests Kerry did not deserve the Silver Star - one of the main allegations in a new book, 'Unfit For Command', which questions Kerry's fitness for President."
This whole affair proves the Republicans know no fairness and are unfit for government.
