The mortar rounds the US secret agents showed us look like regular American or British rounds. There is nothing that proves they are Iranian or where smuggled by Iran.

Tpmmuckraker: "Two things to pay attention to: first, notice that the briefing just refers to Iranian support of generic 'extremists', without specifying Sunni or Shiite, or who is allied to whom. Second, notice that there also isn't specificity about where in Iraq these EFP attacks on U.S. forces have occurred - which might provide a sectarian hint as to who in Iraq is behind them."

VOA: "The top American military officer, General Peter Pace, declined Monday to endorse the conclusions of U.S. military officers in Baghdad, who told reporters on Sunday that the Iranian government is providing high-powered roadside bombs to insurgents in Iraq."

ICH: "At the 2006 Perdana Global Peace Forum, Australian medical scientist Dr. Helen Caldicott provided an authoritative analysis: [VIDEO] of the devastating impact on human life that would result from the radiation release from such an attack.
Dr. Caldicott described the catastrophic deaths that would result from a conventional attack on nuclear facilities and the long-term increase in cancer deaths from the radiation release.
Should the attack be made with nuclear weapons - as some of Bush's criminally insane neoconservative advisers advocate - the populations of many countries would suffer for generations from radioactive particles in air, water, and food chains. Deaths would number in the many millions."
