Apple computers are expensive. However, they save you a lot of money on programmes you need. There is no need for a costly Photoshop, you can have the GIMP for free. iLife (free with new Macs) gives you a mighty media tool. And there are so many free apps.
And what about Aurora, the free alarm clock that lets you wake up to the sound of your personal gentleman, Jeeves (click on downloads and scroll down for the 10 free wake up messages).
But Apple could take better care of their existing customers.
This is an example of where it can go wrong. Of course there is a way around difficulties of this kind, but it takes some time and work; it doesn't deserve a prize for elegance.
