Democrats: Dennis Kucinich took to the floor of the House and began reading 35 Articles of Impeachment against President George W. Bush.

Gore Vidal: "On June 9, 2008, a counterrevolution began on the floor of the House of Representatives against the gas and oil crooks who had seized control of the federal government. This counterrevolution began in the exact place which had slumbered during the all-out assault on our liberties and the Constitution itself.
Rep. Kucinich presented his 35 articles detailing various high crimes and misdemeanors for which removal from office was demanded by the framers of the Constitution.
On Wednesday, the House voted by 251 to 166 to send Rep. Kucinich's articles of impeachment to a committee which probably won't get to the matter before Bush leaves office, a strategy that is 'often used to kill legislation'."

MSNBC: Do you believe President Bush's actions justify impeachment?
89% of the people say Bush should be on trial.

NYTimes: "The Supreme Court on Thursday delivered its third consecutive rebuff to the Bush administration's handling of the detainees at Guantánamo Bay, ruling 5 to 4 that the prisoners there have a constitutional right to go to federal court to challenge their continued detention.
The court declared unconstitutional a provision of the Military Commissions Act of 2006 that, at the administration's behest, stripped the federal courts of jurisdiction to hear habeas corpus petitions from the detainees seeking to challenge their designation as enemy combatants."

it is clear that a president who breaches the Constitution should appear before court. As a war criminal Bush should appear before the International Criminal Court.
America cannot afford to live in shame. If Bush is not put on trial America loses all credibility and justification.

TheMole: "London police have announced a ban on anti-war campaigners hoping to protest against President George Bush's visit to Downing Street this Sunday. The Whitehall ban has been immediately condemned as a 'totalitarian act' by the playwright Harold Pinter, while Stop the War organisers are urging people to defy it and to demonstrate nearby in Parliament Square.
'In what is supposed to be a free country the Stop the War Coalition has every right to express its views peacefully and openly. This ban is outrageous and makes the term 'democracy' laughable,' Pinter said today."

for the NO vote.
A tribute to Molly Malone.

Guardian: "The long campaign to forge a new dispensation for the European Union descended into panic and uncertainty yesterday when Ireland turned its back on its 26 EU partners and voted down the Lisbon Treaty.
EU leaders in Brussels and governments across the union, particularly Germany and France, were stunned by the Irish verdict, which amounted to a huge vote of no confidence in the way the EU is run."

EUObserver: "The European Commission has called for ratification of the Lisbon treaty to continue, despite the No result in Ireland's referendum.
Britain has already said it would press ahead with the ratification, according to the BBC."

You see, that's how democratic Europe will be: they will 'press ahead', without a proper consultation of the European citizens. A YES would have been final, but a NO is not accepted; the chosen few have made up their minds and will muddle along until they have their 'Treaty' ratified, even if that means breaking down democracy and sovereignty for it.
Our politicians don't seem to realize that when one country rejects it and the rest of the European population is NOT consulted at all, the Lisbon treaty is dead.
