JapanTimes: "One would think that the cheerleaders for waging war on Saddam Hussein's Iraq, on the thoroughly discredited grounds that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction, would have retreated into a period of quiet introspection. In fact, it is as difficult to find any trace of embarrassment, humility or repentance as it has been to find a trace of the supposedly ubiquitous and deadly WMD in Iraq. Instead many of the columnists and newspapers that clearly believe that attack is the best form of defense have gone on the offensive against the United Nations and Secretary General Kofi Annan."
SeattlePi: "Citing national security, the Army closed a hearing Thursday on whether three soldiers will be court-martialed for allegedly suffocating an Iraqi general during an interrogation last year."
The torturing continues.
Naomi Klein in a letter to David T Johnson, Ambassador, US Embassy, London: "In Iraq, the US does eliminate those who dare to count the dead.
Mr Ambassador, I believe that your government and its Iraqi surrogates are waging two wars in Iraq. One war is against the Iraqi people, and it has claimed an estimated 100,000 lives. The other is a war on witnesses."

Der Führer hat gesagt: man muß marschieren
Und möglichst rasch und viel, sonst geht es nie.
Man darf die Hoffnung nämlich nicht verlieren
Die Trommel dazu kauft die Industrie.
Bertolt Brecht (1933)
Salon: "The billboards in question are controlled by media juggernaut Clear Channel Communications, and also carry a tag saying that the contents are a 'political public service message brought to you by Clear Channel Outdoor'."
