GreenLeft: "On September 8, at Europe's largest coal port in Rotterdam, the Greenpeace ship Argus blocked cranes from unloading coal imported from South Africa, the US, Indonesia and Australia. Greenpeace is demanding that European governments immediately cease using coal and switch to renewable, clean energy. 'Climate change is now the single biggest threat facing our planet', Sven Teske, a Greenpeace renewable energy expert said, adding, 'Coal is one of the dirtiest fossil fuels, producing more carbon dioxide that contributes to global warming'. The Greenpeace action aimed to 'expose Europe's dangerous addiction to coal. This port currently imports 24.7 million tonnes of coal from all over the world each year.'"
