AbuAardvark: "Last week, al-Arabiya director Abd al-Rahman al-Rashed praised Bahrain for eliminating electronic voting for elections scheduled for November and December of this year. The King intervened in the face of opposition complaints that electronic voting machines could be manipulated to corrupt the electoral process (as one put it, 'the system has security vulnerabilities that would allow hackers and others users to jeopardise voter privacy and alter votes'). According to Rashed, the King considered it essential in order to maintain the faith of voters in the political system."
When even in Bahrain they have eliminated electronic voting machines from the voting process, why does Dutch PM Balkenende, after several reports of gross vulnerabilities in the Dutch voting machines, refuse to consider an other voting system?
