Has OS Emulation Come of Age?. How can users cope with the need to run programs written for different operating systems? One solution is to "emulate" the OS they need to target -- in other words, to run the entire OS as a program on top of their primary operating system. Metal interface spreads to Mail. Apple[base ']s Mail application will sport an interface similar to iChat and Safari in an upcoming version, according to recent information sent to Spymac.
The purported change would see the familiar brushed-metal interface as the front end to Apple[base ']s free Mail.App [^] the default mail client in OS X.
Other Apple products currently using the look include the entire iLife package; QuickTime; iChat and Safari.
