JPII Passing

I like to stay away from religion. Too personal. Too fraught with peril. But I can't help but make some comments about Pope John Paul II. I had a few minutes in the car yesterday and listened to the radio. No surprise there was a lot being said about this extraordinary man. One figure, and I haven't taken the time to verify this, is that the Catholic Church grew by over 250,000,000 people during the ministry of this Pope. Another figure, there are 2 billion Christians in the world and 1 billion of those are Catholic. This can largely be credited to his leadership and vision.

Too be sure, the Catholic Church has had it's problems, too.

Today I read some interesting insights into technology, and the use of the Internet, shared by John Paul II. It made me appreciate even more the profound influence of a great person and what a difference one life can make.

Oh, just to set the record straight, I'm not Catholic.........
