One of the things that I unfortunately have not had the bandwidth to become an expert on is our Oracle ADF UIX technology. I always include it in every demo that I do because showing some of its more sophisticated user interface widgets really help customers understand how it can take their web-based applications beyond the basic input forms that so many developers have to settle for. I'm so happy that they have evolved ADF UIX to support Java Server Faces as well, which should make ADF applications even more easy to build in our next major version of JDeveloper 10g.

I've always had on my list of things to do the task of "slapping" a UIX front end on my ADF Toy Store demo. I just have not had the time to get down and do the work. So it was with great satisfaction that I read today an email from Tony Jewtushenko of our frameworks product management team saying that he will be working on building a UIX front-end for my ADF Toy Store demo. I'll keep you posted on how that effort comes along as Tony makes progress on it. Maybe I'll end up indirectly learning more about UIX in the process from Tony's questions to me as he builds it.
