    | I've been eyeing the Fastweb company
for a couple of years now, drooling over the 10 megabit internet
service they offer in cities like Milan and Rome that have been wired
for fiber optics. A couple summers ago here in Padova, Telecom Italia
was ripping up the streets installing fiber optic cables so I figured
that Fastweb would soon be moving in here, too. It took them a couple
more years than I was hoping, but last month they opened up service in
my town and I signed up for it immediately. Today, I took the jump to
light speed (literally, as they use fiber optics!) as they switched me
from the 256KB Telecom Italia DSL at home to a 4 megabit Fastweb line.
I just downloaded the latest 9.0.5.1.1585 release candidate build from
today in 15 minutes instead of 2.5 hours. Awesome!
