If you use JDeveloper 10g on a Windows XP laptop with an Extended Desktop onto an external monitor, this tip might come in handy. If you happen to have an external monitor with larger resolution than your laptop's 1024x768 screen, then JDeveloper (and, as it turns out Swing in general) is happiest if you make the larger of your two displays the primary display in Windows XP. For example, JDeveloper 10g 10.1.3 works best for my setup (laptop below and 1280x1024 external monitor on top) if I set the external monitor to be the primary monitor by choosing right-mouse on the display surface and picking Graphics Options > Graphics Properties... It brings up a dialog like this where I set the primary/secondary device on the "Extended Desktop" panel.  Maybe your laptop's video adapter offers a similar configuration tool. Settings things this way ensures that scrolling on the larger monitor works as expected, and that right-mouse menus popup on the right monitor.

Duncan Mills has posted a nice OTN HowTo paper on implementing automatic master/detail synchronization using ADF Faces and ADF Business Components.
