While looking at a Java source file in JDeveloper 10g, if I click on the History tab I can compare the current version of the file I'm working on with any version in its Local or CVS version history. Sometimes I need to compare two arbitrary, earlier versions of the file with each other to remember exactly what I was doing when I implemented a particular feature or fixed a particular bug in the past. How can I do that?
It's not possible to do right from the History tab where Joe was looking for it, but it's nonetheless easy to accomplish using the complete version history viewer for the file. Follow these steps:
-
Select the desired file in the Application Navigator
-
Choose Versioning > Version History from the right-mouse context menu
-
A version history window opens for that file, whose upper area contains a Left and Right list of file versions.
-
Select one version of the file on the left side and another version of the file on the right side
The difference between those two versions is highlighted in the window below.
