Jim Wilson has his birthday today!
He is a dear friend of ours, piano tuner to the stars;
He has been a charmer, and a needed pal. We've had the good fortune to live some good life in each other's company,
and I am thankful.
I played him 'happy birthday' on the ukulele this morning, I think he appreciated being awakened like that; he thought using the ukulele for show, as in Pete Townshend's windmill crashes, or Jimi Hendrix's lighter fluid flambe, might be
an exciting use for the tiny instrument.
Go check out his music at the link above.
(shannon) A couple of concert tickets came my way unexpectedly, and so I spent last evening at the life affirming Springsteen Revival meeting under the big tent of the east L.A. sky, in the warm embrace of Dodger Stadium. I was surrounded by 60,000 true believers, whose spirits were moved in genuine musical ecstasy, booties shakin' and hands waving in the air.
See, that's the thing about music~it opens doors to alternate states of being that cannot really be arrived at any other way. That's why we love it, and keep coming to the well for more. Bruce is a vigorous, athletic, passionate performer who is as comfortable rockin' the house in a joyous romp as he is whispering his melancholy into your ear. He is an inspiration.
So as the Red Planet makes a close pass to the Green One, and we all rotate and gyrate together in love and war, it pleases my soul to have a moment of common celebration of the human spirit in it's full array of colors, and to feel the deep weave that keeps us together.
Shake your booty today!
Love,
Shannon
