(geo) Gemma Hayes....hooo, that song 'Ran For Miles' is a good'un.
(geo-a non-musical rant, a mall, somewhere)

I suppose nearly all of us have a story pertaining to where we were that morning two years ago; and worldwide, the reactions run the gamut from horror to elation.
In my life I have seen actions, and the ensuing reactions; in politics, in love, in life. I wonder if my actions might in some way cause a reaction somewhere; of course, I know they do. Just as I use water, there is less water for someone else. Just as I drive my truck, there is a slight bit more pollution, and slightly less clean air to breathe. And, as my family recycles and carpools and walks, we make a difference on the plus side.
I wonder as I sit in air-conditioned comfort, surrounded by shoppers, if we can strike a balance- we of this amazing world. I wonder if we could imagine having this bounty in ways that the rest of the world is not adversely impacted. I'd like to know that as Americans, that would matter to us; even if it meant making some changes in the way we live.
When I see the bounty and the waste of precious resources in America, I wonder if anyone is thinking of our children. What future do we leave them, if all we teach through our action is that instant gratification is what matters most?
Believe me, I am NOT talking about some stark and bleak future!
There are wonderful solutions, inventions; waiting in the wings, in our minds...
