DBAssociates is rolling out an easier way to back up Microsoft Corp. SQL Server databases.
The news comes from Edgewood Solutions LLC, a Merrimack, N.H., consultancy and partner of DBAssociates, which is based in Melbourne, Australia.
The software tool, SQL LiteSpeed, compresses and locks down data with 128-bit encryption as the data backs up. Edgewood officials said that such encryption protects the backup for off-site storage and also satisfies impending regulatory requirements for protecting personally identifiable data for legislation such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and SAS (Statement on Auditing Standards) 70. |
