The well-known anti-globalisation activist Naomi Klein writes about Hugo Chavez and the situation in Venezuela. As always Klein's reading of the situation is second-to-none. Brilliant media piece.

George Monbiot again, on Saturday's historic protests. He writes another well crafted piece about the reasons for Bush's war. Brilliant reading.

Madelaine Bunting writes a moving piece in the Guardian about the peace protests in London. Very well worth a look, I like the venom in this:

We said No, Not in our Names and we meant it. Blair will never be forgiven. A tragic end to a good prime minister who was swept to power on a promise that "things will only get better".

This is very interesting indeed. Condoleezza Rice has said on Sunday that war with Iraq would become unavoidable unless UN Security Council members united soon behind a tough, common approach to Baghdad.

What? This is typical of the Bush administration. Reading the subtext its more like a veiled threat. "The UN better toe the line and agree to war, or else, we go to war. " Amazing rhetoric too.

Its simple, the decision is made, war will happen.

Yes those Koreans are at it again, and this time they are threatening to pull out of the 1953 armistice that ceased hostilities. Technically it is still at war - and pulling out of the armistice is effectively declaring war again.
