Monitor. cable. Usually I turn my computer off before I leave for work.  I confess it's not every time, but most often.  Well, one day, after having left my computer on, I come home to find that my monitor is kaputz (actually the story is not quite as simple as that--as it involved the road I took to get to that conclusion, which involved some odd boot problems in the process). I am a bit of a packrat, however.  I had an extra 17" and 15" monitor. the first given to me, the second an ancient Packard Bell unit.  The first was lacking the cable to connect it to the computer, so I resorted to the latter.  Well, it's an old and crappy monitor.  It made me not want to spend time on the computer.  After several weeks, I finally got around to ordering the cable for the bigger monitor.  It arrived today and I'm a happier boy. 11:35:26 PM    comment []
