The New Republic: Americans have a "misdirected obsession with weight and weight loss. The focus is all wrong. It's fitness that is the key." (requires free registration)

Interesting article. Not sure I am ready to sign on to everything it says, but lots to agree with, including the fact that episodic (yo-yo) dieting is harmful. I remember reading, a few years ago, that the very healthiest (or longest-lived) people were actually 10% underweight (whatever that means). I wonder how that research squares with this?
