Next time my computer is bafflingly slow (yes, I regularly run anti-virus and anti-spyware including memory-resident), remind me to re-boot. I have long been a fan of always-on, and NT-or-better reliability, but a re-boot still cures a lot.

I'm running XP in fast-user-switching mode (yes, I have 762 Mb of RAM, and when there are performance problems, I make sure there are no other users logged on). The other user is usually one of the kids, playing games. I haven't carefully studied for a correlation, but I am strongly suspecting their poxy games of causing most of the problem. If we had one more computer, I wonder if I could keep them off my machine?
