"Although the temperature dipped to freezing or below (31 degrees) three times in October at the National Weather Service station in Chanhassen, the standard for a true, widespread killer frost -- 28 degrees -- hasn't been recorded since March 26. That 222-day span is the longest in records going back to 1891, according to Assistant State Climatologist Pete Boulay." And the 10-day forecast shows nothing below 30.
