I just applied at Google for a new job called New Programs Coordinator (Blogger). I could do this job!!! but I've applied at Google before and its never panned out..because I think unless you know someone at Google, you're chances are probably slim. Here's basic job description: "Do you love to blog? If so, then Google, the award winning search engine, may have the perfect opportunity for you. We are seeking seasoned Bloggers to provide technical support to Blogger's rapidly-growing user base. Come to Google and be a part of this global self-publishing phenomenon!".
I also think I could probably do this job for Userland, specifically Radio and here I am promoting myself, very unlike me, but if I never put it down in writing or say it aloud, how is anyone going to know how I'm feeling or what I can do. And I have no idea if there is even a position like this at Userland but figured why not put it out there...and see what happens..
Basic job description (from google) of what I can do and what I would love to do......
- Provide excellent customer service to users.
- Respond to customer service inquiries
- Troubleshoot technical problems related to the authoring and publishing of blogs; escalate bug reports.
- Report on trends in our users needs.
- Create customer documentation (look I'm already doing this with newbie tips)
So yes, just a little self-promotion today. But look what else I can offer - I'm currently an accounting manager and a project manager and a LAN administrator..combined with a blogger..hmmm..the possibilities are endless..and to combine my personal passion with my career skills, what a wonderful idea.
