I got comcast cable again..you'd think I'd be happy about it right - faster speeds, quick downloads but damn its slower than DSL and it keeps going up and down, up and down all day today. At first the comcast techs were telling it was something on my end causing the problem so I switched out the leased modem for the original one that I bought 8 years ago when comcast was still "At Home" service, that didn't help..so I called Comcast back, they still said it must be something on my end. I changed the channel on my wireless router - no help. I finally called Comcast back about 10 mins ago - they are finally sending out a tech to help tomorrow. But by now, I'm just pissed off and utterly happy I haven't called SBC to cancel the DSL yet because if they can't get this working right, back to DSL I go.
The gods are conspiring against me today..time to get off the computer, maybe tonight I won't dream about taxes
update: it was two things
- since i originally installed via the wireless router and not a direct connect to the computer, the install didn't setup correctly (Comcast troubleshot onsite today)
- and my wireless router is dying causing intermittent flux in connection - has since been disconnected
so I'm calling SBC tonight and disconnecting DSL - no more static on the phone line, wahoo!! and I'm going to have to buy another wireless router eventually, for now, the cable line is just going to have to run across the dining area floor.
